Two to four implants are placed in the jaw. Small attachments — commonly studs or a bar — sit on top of them, and matching housings inside your denture click onto these attachments.
The result feels dramatically more secure than a conventional denture while remaining removable, so you can clean both the denture and the attachments thoroughly each day.
Overdentures suit patients who dislike a loose lower denture, who have lost significant bone, or who want a meaningful upgrade without the cost of a fixed arch.
