Tooth-Coloured Fillings

White composite fillings are made from a tough, tooth-coloured resin reinforced with microscopic ceramic particles. Unlike old-style metal amalgam, composite is bonded micromechanically to the tooth — meaning we can keep more of your healthy tooth structure intact.

At our Forest Hill practice we use premium nano-hybrid composites that combine excellent aesthetics with the strength needed for chewing back teeth.

Many patients ask us to replace old, dark amalgam fillings with white composite ones — for cosmetic reasons or because the original filling is starting to leak or fail. We carefully remove the old material using rubber dam isolation, then place a new composite restoration that blends seamlessly with your tooth.
